Fond Memories
Tales From A Young Brooklyn
Teenager
I was a young Brooklyn teenager in the mid-sixties. I
could never explain it, but Palisades Park always had a mystique about it.
I was actually intimidated by it. Going to Coney Island always seemed
safer. The one thing I remember about Palisades was riding the Orange and
Black buses (the old ones) from the top level of the Port Authority Bus
Terminal. i do remember an empty feeling when I heard it had closed down.
I never got to fully understand it. What a pity.
