There Is A Hole In The Fence

A few years ago I remember reading somewhere an article about Palisades
Amusement Park in which they mentioned that one day a security guard went
to Mr. Rosenthal and said, "There is a hole in the fence and the kids are
sneaking in". Mr. Rosenthal said, "Look the other way". I was one of
those kids! He didn't care as long as they were having fun. He loved
children and when they got in the park we spent money on rides anyway.
I live in the Borough of Palisades Park about three or four miles from
where the park was. The name Palisades Park confused many people,
especially New Yorkers and they would come here looking for the park. I
would explain that it is not here but is in Cliffside Park and Fort Lee
and I would give them directions. So I guess I paid Mr. Rosenthal back
somewhat for his kindness.
