matchbooks!
More than 50 years ago, I remember going to Palisades Park by bus from my home town, Jersey City. That day, Mel Torme performed there. At that time, he was probably in the beginning of his career. I asked for, and got, his autograph, which I misplaced many years ago. I also remember tearing apart the matchbooks to see if there was a picture of "Pal" on the inside, under the staple.
