From a dance regular on the Alan Freed show

Hi Vince,

I came upon your web site and it brought back so many memories. I was a dance regular on the Alan Freed show for a couple of years. During that time Clay Cole had a show on channel 13. My partner and I would dance on Alan Freed then race to Times Square to dance on Clay Cole's show. When the payola scandal broke and Alan Freed was forced off the air, we danced only on Clay Cole. He then moved from the Times Square studio to a studio in New Jersey, I believe it was Newark. Then in the summer he moved his show to Palisades Park. We had a great time. We would dance at the park for DJ's doing a live show - Murray the K and Cousin Brucie. Then we would do the Clay Cole TV show. EVERYDAY during the summer that's where we would be. I would do extra chores at home to earn my bus ticket from Brooklyn to Palisades Park. We met so many wonderful performers and we felt like "big deals" ourselves when we would stay at the park after the show and walk around. Many kids asked for our autographs and we were thrilled. Thanks for letting me relive a wonderful time of my life.

Regards,
Terri
