Ballgame at Night at Palisades Park

In early 1961, my USAF buddy and I had just completed a tour and had returned to Brooklyn, his home. Mine was at the time Columbus, Ohio. On one Saturday night we went to a huge rock and roll show at the Palisades Park auditorium and I don't know how many thousands there were there, but the place was packed. Bob and I got there early and strange.. but a lot of the performers were there early as well. What to do in the interim until the place opened up? Someone had a ball and some bats and gloves in their trunk and got them and Dion Dimucci, Frankie Avalon, Fabian, Bob and myself? We got a whole bunch of the performers, male or female, no matter how old to join in and we had one humdinger of a baseball game. I have seen Dion a couple of times in the last forty plus years and once in his Jaguar on the 405 Freeway around the Carson area in LA. I have been the complete fan of R & B and rock and roll since its incept in the 1950s and thought Palisades Park was some fine entertainment. I have been to New Jersey any number of times in the last fifty years or so and have never met a native of that state I didn't like. By the bye, I'm 70 years old. And I'm an author, unsung, but an author.

Cheers
