Daydreaming About
Summers at Palisades Park

Hello,

I started daydreaming about summers at Palisades Park today and it suddenly dawned on me that there must be a website dedicated to such a wonderful place.  I grew up in West New York (40s and 50s) and I could hardly wait till the park opened each year.  It was heaven.  It was a wonderland of rides when I was little and what a fabulous place to spend my teenage years!!  Great shows:  Paul Anka and  Bobby Rydell stand  out. Wow, I remember the first time I was old enough to go without my mother.  We just got some buddies together and enjoyed our freedom.  What a great pool! You could meet everyone there.  The suntan lotion we used was a mixture of baby oil and iodine.  You could be a human french fry. What great food!  I was happy to see the recipe for those unforgettable french fries.  Nothing comes close to them today.  I could never forget the roast beef sandwiches washed down with lemonade (from the BIG lemons) or root beer.

Thanks for this site.
