Lots of Fun for a City Kid

Thanks for a great website about a terrific place with great memories for me, Palisades Amusement Park.

I grew up in a project in Spanish Harlem-99th street and 2nd avenue-till I was 10(1970). We had no car but for 1 day every summer day we took the train to the Port Authority Bus Terminal where we took a bus to Palisades Amusement Park. The anticipation was unbelievable-I, my brother and sister couldn’t wait. My favorite ride was a sack ride where I slid down a man made hill-I remember seeing myself on this ride in a commercial for the park the following year. This was truly a day in heaven.

I now live in the suburb of Long Island and I take my own sons to Disney. Hopefully they will remember Disney as fondly as I remember Palisades Amusement Park.
