  Fond Memories

Crying Real Tears...

What a great website!

I am crying real tears. The sixties was a magical time to grow up as a kid in the city. The music of the sixties became the soundtrack of my life. Each song brings back a flood of incredible memories.

I don't live in the past, but I do long for a return to a wonderful time in this country that I am afraid is all gone now. Palisades Park was right over the bridge, calling us over to have some fun. Cousin Brucie was always inviting us to come on down to Palisades Park. Unfortunately, I never made it there. (I had turbulent parents who couldn't focus on the kids.)

But, the persona of it, by way of the radio, and all my favorite DJ's who talked
about it, has stamped an indelible image of the magic of it upon my imagination,
and after reading all of these fond memories tonight, my beliefs about it are all confirmed.

I can't share any memories of the rides, but I share with all of you the magic of
simpler times in our country, and I want to remind you all that it wasn't a dream.
It really existed. May God bless America.
