Nothing Better than Palisades Park

I remember so many summer nights my parents would drive me and my two sisters to "the park." There was nothing better than Palisades Park. I remember one night, in particular, when the Teamsters were there and they were passing out books of tickets. They gave my Dad so many of those books! We rode on the rides all night! For free! My favorite ride was the Cyclone and I could ride on that over and over and over. I look back with such great happiness to those Palisades Days. My Dad would play some of the games and we would eat those incredible french fries in the paper cone and then quench our thirst with the best lemonade in the world. Once I reached my teen years, our parents allowed us to take the bus from Ridgewood, NJ into Maywood where we would then catch the Public Service #1 bus that took us right to the park. My girlfriends and I would flirt with the cute boys running the games and the ones who handles the rides. Sometimes they'd let us on for free! Then we'd go the concert at night. I'll never forget Palisades Amusement Park as it was such a memorable time in my life. It's a shame kids today won't have such memories. Life was easy and we were innocent. I treasure my memories. Palisades is the one, Palisades has the fun..........c'mon over!
