Palisades Exhibit at the Fort Lee Museum
PALISADES AMUSEMENT
PARK IN COLOR -
JUNE 22nd THROUGH OCTOBER 28th, 2007
The Fort Lee Film Commission and Fort Lee
Historical Society will curate this exhibit on the celebrated Palisades
Amusement Park. This exhibit is centered around the recent purchase by
the Fort Lee Historical Society of 125 Kodachrome slides of the park
circa 1950s - 1960s. These rare color images will be enlarged and placed
on display along with rare artifacts of the park's history. We will open
this exhibit with a special reception on Friday, June 22nd at 7pm. Our
guest speaker will be famed Palisades Amusement Park historian and
documentary filmmaker Vince Gargiulo. Vince will introduce a screening
of his documentary "Palisades Amusement Park: A Century of Fond
Memories" at sunset in the patio area of the Fort Lee Museum. This
exhibit will continue on weekends from Noon to 4pm and it is open to
groups during the week by appointment. The museum is located at 1588
Palisades Avenue. For further information please call the Fort Lee
Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs at (201) 592-3663.
