"Memories of Palisades Park" by Ann Reeves

In July 1999, New Jersey folk artist, Ann Reeves created a loving tribute to the Park on the Palisades. 

Palisades Amusement Park was a place for fun and magic memories that would last a lifetime.

Begin at the top left you will find The Main Gate that leads us in to the park, the circus comes to town. Then the Fort Lee crowd appears, Kiddieland, boat rides and the marvelous Cyclone. The park opened it's doors at the end of each school year for the area children and we see the Cliffside Park parade marching in. The New York City Anchor Club sponsored a day at the park for orphaned and disadvantaged children. The picnic area is on the far right, the train passes through, the Wild Mouse and other rides surround the picnic area. Under the picnic area is the wonderful wave pool. The Jet Plane swings through the trees leaving a path. The Carousel in the middle, the Ferris Wheel and the Free Act Stage with rock and roll performers, beauty pageant contestants, diaper derby, and triplets convention represent the many events that took place in the park. The secret hole in the fence that allowed many, many teenager's to sneak in without paying. You will see a guard behind a tree laughing at them. The Town of Edgewater is below the cliffs. To the left are many other inviting rides, and the tower that was like a beacon.

I hope that this creation of mine will allow people to visit or revisit "Palisades Amusement Park" and experience the fun and magic, even if only for a moment. Memories are Magical!!
